Obviously it takes a lot of hard work and commitment to improve your figure drawing skills. There is no magic bullet when it comes to learning how to draw. You have got to put in the pencil mileage. However there are shortcuts. What you don’t know will slow down your learning process.
Whether you are getting help from a local instructor or from Drawing Tutorials Online.com it’s important to do just that, get help. Consistently, not once every eight months.
So get out there and work hard. But don’t forget to stick you head out of your studio to see how you can improve faster.
Thanks for watching.
Hi Matt,
You know my journey through figure drawing and portraits before landing on the area of my focus being landscape. I don’t need to tell you, but I am finding that all the principles of drawing the figure that you teach are applicable to drawing the landscape. Angles, measurement, surface planes, none of the time I spent learning these things from you was wasted. I smile every time I draw a tree trunk and its branches thinking about the gesture line of the up-raised arms and torso.
Thanks for all you do and your caring approach to your students.
Blessings,
Jack
